Brumunddal Torg

-
Rambøll, Lillehammer

In 2013, the square in Brumunddal was renovated and modernised with a view to creating a new and vibrant centre. A crucial factor for success was that the new urban space need to be activated. So several formerly closed courtyards were combined to create a large, open square with space for both recreation and activities.

The square is divided into pedestrian areas and rest/recreation spaces. The furnishings are placed under the trees which form a green roof over the rest and recreation areas.  In addition, a space has been opened on the square that functions as a gathering point for cultural events such as concerts, Christmas markets etc.
